Link space and equipment loan policies

Link spaces may be reserved for event and extracurricular use, with academic use receiving priority. Group study and seminar rooms are unlocked at all times. Teaching classrooms are unlocked for scheduled courses as well as independent and project-based use during the Link Service Desk’s hours of operation.

Each teaching space in the Link is configured with a projector and LCD displays, multimedia playback equipment, and other technologies to support dynamic teaching and experimentation, including:

Some of this equipment is available for loan to any Duke affiliate with a valid, current ID card. The remainder is primarily for academic use and must be reserved by faculty five business days in advance.

Individual instructors or departments who wish to make additional equipment available for circulation should contact the Link Service Desk.

The furniture in each Link space, including common areas, is designed to offer maximum flexibility of use. Classroom users should return the furniture to one of the baseline configurations posted in the room at the end of each session. Link staff will reset the furniture to a standard configuration each morning, but intraday setup and configuration is the responsibility of the people using the rooms.
